Hurkamp Park in Fredericksburg VA
This park is a beautiful, family-friendly place to spend the day. It has a playground, fields and is right next to the Rappahannock River, which is perfect for inner tubing, canoeing, kayaking, rocking hopping and wading!

Parking
The park has a fountain, brick sidewalks, public restrooms and benches. It is also home to the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market and various concerts, festivals and events.
There is free parking along Baker Street and College Avenue, if you’re willing to walk a bit (about 5-10 minutes). You can also find metered parking on Market Street, Patrick Street, and Church Street.
Alternatively, you can park at the Sophia Street parking garage. Located at the corner of Sophia and Wolfe St, it’s within easy walking distance to the train station, visitor’s center, and courts.
On-street meters are available throughout Downtown Frederick, with $1 and $2 per hour time limits. You can pay with coins, the ParkMobile app on your smartphone, or prepaid parking meter cards purchased from the City of Frederick parking department. All meters and parking garages are free on weekends.
Food & Drink

Located right in the middle of downtown Fredericksburg, this small but historic park offers a fountain, brick sidewalks, public restrooms and benches. It also happens to be home to the city’s Farmers Market, which is open year-around. There’s also a lot of music to be heard from the many musicians who play live in the park each Sunday night.
The best thing about Hurkamp Park is that it’s free to enter and open to the public dawn to dusk daily. It’s a great place to kick back and enjoy a cold one while taking in some of the town’s finer touches.
